Carpenter – Full-Time (Permanent)

Job Description:

GVA Walls & Ceilings Ltd. is seeking experienced Carpenters to join our growing construction team. The role involves working across multiple residential and commercial project sites, requiring strong technical skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently as well as supervise junior workers.

Key Responsibilities:

Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood and other materials
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
Maintain, repair and renovate residential and commercial structures
Estimate costs and materials required for projects
Schedule and coordinate work at construction sites
Supervise and instruct apprentices and other workers
Requirements:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
2 years to less than 3 years of relevant carpentry experience
Ability to work at various job sites (mobile work environment)
Strong understanding of construction methods and safety standards
Work Conditions:

Fast-paced construction environment
Physically demanding
Work at heights and outdoors in varying conditions
