About the Employer
Hi-Performance Painting Ltd. is a Surrey-based painting and finishing company providing residential and commercial interior and exterior painting services throughout Surrey and the Lower Mainland. The company provides services including surface preparation, sanding, patching, priming, painting, staining, touch-ups, quality control and project clean-up.

Position Overview
The Construction Estimator will be employed by Hi-Performance Painting Ltd. and will be responsible for preparing labour and material cost estimates, quotations, bids and tender submissions for residential and commercial painting projects. The position will also involve reviewing drawings and specifications, monitoring project expenditures, maintaining supplier and contractor information, and communicating with clients, contractors and other project representatives regarding project costs and changes.

Compensation: $40.40 per hour
Vacation pay: 4% as per BC Employment Standards

Duties and Responsibilities
The Construction Estimator will:
Prepare estimates of labour and material costs for painting and finishing projects.
Prepare pre-qualification submissions for presentation to clients.
Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine project requirements.
Prepare estimates for general expenses and overhead costs.
Create and submit estimate reports, quotation sheets and bid forms.
Analyze tenders and recommend awards based on project costs and requirements.
Set up and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems.
Monitor and adjust contract expenditures as required.
Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers and trade contractors.
Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors regarding changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Education
Completion of a college or CEGEP program related to construction estimating, construction management, building technology, civil engineering technology, or a closely related field is required.

Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction estimating or a closely related field is required.
